Pre-World War I P.08 Luger manufactured by DWM under contract for the Imperial German military. The receiver is stamped "1910" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs present on the right. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram logo. Front grip strap is unit marked "13.T.L.4.2." indicating issue to 13th Field Hospital Train-Battalion, 4th Company, Weapon Number 2. Frame is in its original configuration and has not been modified with a hold-open device. Major metal components are rust blued, with some smaller components strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the takedown lever and the magazine, and are serialized in the proper "hidden" fashion. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their period arsenal applied rust blue finish, exhibiting areas of mild wear and thinning that show through to pleasant gray and brown patinas, with some areas of mild surface oxidation, primarily concentrated on the grip straps. Strawed components are very good, exhibiting mild wear to gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some mild smoothing and a few scattered nicks and impressions to the diamonds, but are otherwise fine. MLW
