Unaltered P.08 Luger manufactured at the Royal Arsenal Erfurt prior to the start of World War I for the Imperial German military. The receiver is stamped "1912" over the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsadler (which is also present on the front of the trigger guard and side of the receiver axle pin) stamped on the right. Toggle is stamped with a standard "(Crown) / ERFURT". Front grip strap is unit marked "F.M.XIII.9.3.", indicating issue to the Field Howitzer Munitions Column of the 8th Army Corps. Interior of right grip panel bears some partially indiscernible text written in sharpie, which appears to read "822 / Lurgo", followed by a hand-scribed "R". Frame has not been altered to have a hold-open device. Major metal components are rust blued, whole some smaller components are strawed and nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers match (including the grips), except for the magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain most of their period arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning (mostly concentrated on the sides of the barrel) that show through to gray patina, with some scattered spots of mild surface oxidation. Strawed components exhibit some wear through to gray patina and show some age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting very light inactive oxidation and retains strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds but are otherwise fine.
