Kentucky halfstock percussion rifle made by Hardin Slocomb of Homer, New York circa 1840. .44 caliber rifled octagonal barrel, 33 - 1/4" long, with hunting sights and stamped "H. SLOCOMB/HOMER". Commercial percussion lock with floral engraving and set triggers. Plain walnut halfstock with cheekpiece, brass hardware including saddle plate, and pewter nosecap and barrel escutcheon plates. Comes with original hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a brown patina and turning to silver in carry areas. Stock has added coat of linseed oil with some usage marks and dings and crack along right side of forearm. Good bore with good mechanics.
