Manufactured 1937 as per accompanying copy of Smith & Wesson letter, and was shipped to the New Hampshire State Police, State House, Concord, New Hampshire, with a 6" barrel, Baughman quick draw front sight on base, square notch rear sight, blue finish, and checkered walnut Magna grips. The handgun was sighted at 25 yards for a dead-center hold with .38 S&W Special, and a 3.5# trigger pull. High polish blue finish. Partially lugged barrel with replaced Patridge front sight, wide square notch rear sight, blued finish, serrated case color hardened trigger. Barrel marked "SMITH & WESSON" on left side, right with "S. & W. .357 MAGNUM", with "36339 B (Diamond)" in crane recess. Case colored hammer with checkering across top. Top rib and top strap with anti-glare matting. Serial number visible on butt. Inside of frame marked with serial number "12 72", "(Star) 1053", and "R-Bi" in a lozenge, indicating factory refinishing. Magna grips with gilt medallions. Butt with vacant hole for lanyard loop. Single action trigger breaks at a crisp 5#. CONDITION: Very good. Handling marks throughout consistent with range use and time spent in a holster, mostly to frame, but visible throughout. Some old peppering visible under the blue, but very minor. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Grips are good with softening throughout, medallions particularly soft. The Registered Magnum is legendary amongst revolver aficionados for their craftsmanship, which was so high that Smith & Wesson backed them with a lifetime warranty. Accompanied by a copy Smith & Wesson letter listing features and signed by Roy Jinks.
