Detective Special double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1965. The left side of the barrel bears the model and caliber designations, with Colt's 2-line address across the right. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo and "VP". proof. Metal components are blued; frame mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Frame is mounted with a Colt hammer shroud. Revolver is accompanied by a original factory cardboard box, exhibiting a matching serial number on the bottom, as well as a Colt factory letter indicating under "Special Features:" that this example was "Furnished with a hammer shroud", and was 1 of 8 guns shipped to the S. Klein Department Store in Greenbelt, Maryland on September 7th, 1965. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some minor superficial handling marks, as well as a few spots of mild oxidation. Mirror bore exhibits well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few scattered handling marks, but are otherwise fine. Box shows some exterior wear and a taped repair on 1 corner, but is otherwise fine. MLW
