A nicely framed example of a Revolutionary War pay document from the Untied Colonies to Henry Knox, Commander of the Regt. Artillery, 6th. The document measures approximately 22" x 18" including the frame and addresses the "Bounty upon 146 men inlisted with the Regt of Artillery who were not in the service Last Campaign." The reverse features the abstract of pay due to the field and staff officers and 10 companies of the Continental Regiment of Artillery. Dated May 1776, this is a nice example of an early Revolutionary War document. Complimenting the document is an engraving of Henry Knox that is from the original painting by Gilbert Stuart in Faneuil Hall, Boston. CONDITION: The document exhibits blemishes typical of old paper including edge wear, slight fading, creasing, etc. Frame with handing and age related wear. PROVENANCE: This document was once part of the renowned Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection.
