German World War II Kriegsmarine dagger with an era original artificial Damascus blade and ivory grip. Artificial blade is marked with the initials "HK", with no other markings. Blade has no noticeable wear or damage. Brass pommel retains approximately 50% of its gilt finish and the cross guard approximately 75%. Ivory grip has moderate staining and a number of the characteristic dark lines. Brass wire wrapping is undamaged, and a bullion portepee with light damage and heavy patina is attached. Brass scabbard retains less than 30% of its gilt finish with patina and 2 half inch shallow dents. One of its 2 throat screws has been recently replaced with a brass screw. A rare opportunity to obtain and artificial Damascus dagger, which provides an opportunity to identify its original owner. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent. WEZ
