Manufactured in 1996 in varmint configuration with a gunmetal gray finished 26" tapered medium heavy weight barrel chambered in .22-250, no factory iron sight provisions, and a laminate target stock with beavertail forend and black rubber Ruger butt pad. A Leupold VARI-X II 4-12X scope with duplex reticle is mounted for sighting. Stock is affixed with a large 14k or higher quality solid gold presentation plate weighing at least 1 oz inscribed "To Peter Riva / Straight-Shooting Agent / "Ruger + His Guns" - 1996 / Compliments of Wm. B. Ruger". This rifle was presented by Bill Ruger as a thank you to Peter Riva for acting as agent for his 1996 book with R. L. Wilson, “Ruger & His Guns” and was originally consigned in 2017 by the recipient. CONDITION: Near excellent, showing some light handling marks. Bore is fine and bright, retaining crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Optic is clear. A fine addition to any Ruger collection.
