German pre-War drilling made by J.P. Sauer and Sohn, Suhl, Germany in April of 1941. 25 - 3/4" blued Krupp-Laufstahl 12 gauge side by side barrels with extractors, matted rib (marked with rifle caliber) and rifle sights with rear flipping up when rifle is activated. Desirable 9.3x74R barrel with tang selector with switch labeled S (Schort) and K (Kugel). Tang has "W.St" marking; possibly for a previous owner? Case hardened scalloped boxlock action with Sauer logo and light line floral pattern engraving with double triggers (front set), Greener style crossbolt and safety, and lug sideclips. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, hard rubber Sauer logo buttplate, and horn grip cap. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with Anson and Deeley latch. CONDITION: 85% original barrel blue with silvery wear in carry areas and a small scratch on left barrel. Frame has traces of vivid case colors with carry areas starting to wear to silver. 90% original finish with some light handling marks and dings. Excellent bores and mechanics. An excellent gun for Africa with a rifle caliber legal in most areas.
