If you know the history of Star Wars figures, then you know the story of the Early Bird certificate package. These certificates were sold for a limited time before the actual figures were available to capitalize on the interest in the movie and get people to buy merchandise. This certificate package is still sealed, and is in great condition. It has a small remnant of a price sticker in the upper-right corner, and what appears to be non-factory tape on the front-right edge as well. There is very little wear beyond that and the certificate displays beautifully. Once you mailed in your certificate and waited a few months, you would receive a boxed set of Early Bird figures, as promised. Also included in this lot, is the mailer box complete with tray and figures. This particular set has the outer mailer box included and shows signs of wear as you would expect, as it went through the postal system. Upon opening the box, you would find - and is included - the white tray to hold your four new figures, as well as the pegs to go with them. The tray is in excellent condition and does not show cracking or breaks. All four figures and the pegs in this set are still in their sealed bags, and are in beautiful condition. The Luke is clearly the double telescoping lightsaber version, as you can easily see the small inner filament protruding from the outer lightsaber. It also comes with several promotional mailer items included with the kit.
