Manufactured 1913. Slide with half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight left side with 2-line 2-block patent and address information with intercepting pony, right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY". "H" stamped askew at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel stamped "HS" on right lug. Frame with "H" and "R" proofs near disconnector. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", Augusta Arsenal "AA" rebuild stamp, right side with serial number. Small parts comprise spurred checkered hammer, thick tab safety, relief mill cut slide release, short 1911 grip safety, long milled trigger, arched knurled mainspring release with lanyard loop. Left grip a modern iteration marked " N / LOC / R", right a Keyes grip with reinforcing rings. Magazine marked "S" on baseplate lip for Scoville manufacture. Housed in a 2-piece kraft box with the DOD 1348-1A release, listing this gun by serial number and dated September 1st, 1966; modern labels with "265" and "#265 / Colt Mod 1911 / US ARMY - 45". CONDITION: Very good as rebuilt at Augusta. Reparkerized finish has softened legends somewhat, and shows some silvering at operational areas and high edges. Mechanically fine, bore has visible softened rifling and frosting. Box is very good, showing normal age related distress and peeling, 1 tear at apron, but form is easily legible.
