Circa 1918. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel stamped "HP" with intertwined leg, oriented to read with muzzle pointing right, "G" proof in front of lug. Subinspector proofs on top of frame near disconnector hole: "G", "H", and "V". Right side of frame with serial number, left side of dust cover with US property mark, S14 eagle head proof at magazine release. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, relief cut thumb safety, relief cut slide release, checkered magazine release, long smooth trigger, short 1911 grip safety, flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2-tone magazine. Housed in an Audley holster with a double magazine pouch with "Lift The Dot" fastener, containing 2 spare magazines, unmarked, and appear to have been originally 2-tone magazines, and a spare Colt barrel, marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left of chamber, "P" on left lug, "G" in front of lug. CONDITION: Pistol is largely gunmetal grey with flashes of bluing mixed in, mostly on small parts and in protected areas. Some handling marks visible throughout, including some marks that have silvered and marks from improper disassembly. Mechanically fine, bore with visible rifling, frosting throughout, and some areas of pitting. Leather is good, pliable, with crazing throughout and rubbings to corner, some separation at belt loop. Magazine pouch commensurate, magazines are essentially gunmetal grey with flashes of bluing. Spare barrel is good with softened rifling and frosting throughout. A well presenting set.
