A nice example of a British medal bar named to William Bell, who had a lengthy career in the British military with the Royal Engineers. Included records indicate Bell served in the 10th Company Royal Engineers, 8th Company Royal Engineers, and 21st Company Royal Engineers. He toured the world with the British Army and saw service at duty stations at Aldershot, Canton, and Dublin. Bell's medal bar consists of his China War Medal impressed in Roman capitals "SAPPER WM. BELL. 10TH C. ROYAL ENGRS", Abyssinian War Medal named on reverse "4764 / CORPL / W.W. BELL / ROYAL ENGRS", and Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (Victoria version with scroll suspender) impressed in Roman capitals "4764 SERJT W.W. BELL, RL. ENGRS.". Several copies of Bell's records are included. CONDITION: The medals exhibit a dark gray patina. Rim impressions are legible but dark.
