A nice medal group consisting of 5 medals named to an Indian officer. The group consists of Khan's India General Service Medal (1895) engraved in running script "[illegible number] Sepoy Gheba Khan Minbu Mil. Police" with Burma 1885-7 clasp, India Medal (1895) engraved in running script "424 Sepoy Gheba Khan 1st Pjb Infy" with Waziristan 1901-2 and Punjab Frontier 1897-98 clasps, India General Service Medal (1908) engraved in running script "Subdr Gheba Khan. 55th Rifles." with Afghanistan N.F.W. 1919 and North West Frontier 1908 clasps, War Medal impressed "SUBDR. MAJ. GHEBA KHAN, 1-55 RFLS. F.F.", and General Service Medal (King George V coinage head 1918–1928 version) impressed "SUBDR. MJR. GHEBA KHAN." Gheba Khan fought in Burma in the 1880s as a member of the Minbu Military Police Battlaion and later served with the 1st Punjab Infantry on the North West Frontier and Waziristan. He later served with the 55th Frontier Force during the Third Afghan War and in Southern Persia. Khan achieved greatly during his time in the military and earned the highest rank for an Indian officer which was equivalent to a British captain. CONDITION: Medals exhibit a varying patina with light blemishes and wear.
