Lot consists of 3 British World War I "Dead Man's Penny" Memorial Plaques, 1 with accompanying medals. (A) Memorial Plaque and medals named to Corporal Lawson Walton Austin, Royal Engineers. The group consists of Memorial Plaque named "LAWSON WALTON AUSTIN", War Medal impressed "568047 CPL. L.W. AUSTIN. R.E.", and Victory Medal impressed "568047 CPL. L.W. AUSTIN. R.E." Austin is listed as "Died" on 17 July 1917. CONDITION: Medals with light patina and light blemishes. (B) Memorial Plaque named to "WILLIAM ERNEST WALKER". Walker served in the 14th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers and is listed as killed in action 5 November 1918, most likely during the Final Advance in Picardy-Battle of the Sambre. CONDITION: Light patina. (C) Memorial Plaque named to "GEORGE AUSTIN BRENCHLEY" and stamped "SEPT. 18. 1914". Brenchley served as a private with the 13th Battalion Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) and is listed as killed in action on 11 July 1917. CONDITION: Light patina. Copies of records are included with each Memorial Plaque.
