A very nice and large lot of Grand Army of the Republic and Civil War veteran ribbons, medals, and badges. The lot includes a significant amount of GAR medals, as well as veteran medals that date to the immediate post Civil War era through the beginning of the 20th century. There are 2 Southern Crosses of Honor, one of which is named to veteran "J.R. Saw". There is also a cigar box with ribbons and medals pertaining to the 127th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, all are presumably from the same veteran who was active with reunions and encampments during the post-war years. There are also several cases of ribbons, with attractive graphics including several Naval ribbons including several from the Farragut Association. Many medals and ribbons are Pennsylvania associated with several from New York, Rhode Island, and other states. CONDITION: Almost all medals exhibit a pleasing patina with several showing tarnishing and other blemishes. Most ribbons remain vibrant with great colors and graphics with several exhibiting fading from age as well as fraying and slight rips. A nice offering of Civil War veteran memorabilia.
