Winchester Third Model 1873 made by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1887. 26" octagonal barrel in .38-40 with Winchester address and King's Improvement markings, pedestal bead front sight, and notch adjustable rear sight. Blued action with script ".38 CAL" caliber designation on brass lifter with plain trigger, case hardened lever and hammer, and blued full length magazine. Plain walnut stocks with added checkering and original steel trap door buttplate containing an original 3-piece Winchester steel cleaning rod. CONDITION: Barrel has faded to a brown patina with edges worn silver. Action has worn to a blue-brown patina with light surface scaling. Wood has been cleaned and light coat of oil over usage dings and marks. Poor bore with traces of rifling. Good mechanics.
