Lot consists of (A) Utilized as a defensive weapon by German forces throughout the course of World War II, the German S-mine proved to be an exceptionally effective weapon in the field that significantly hampered enemy combatants morale. This example is ink stamped "Geladen/ Mln.25.8.41/O" with the manufacturer code "atx67/40" followed by an "(Eagle) / WaA89" waffenamt on the top cover. Exterior of mine retains its original olive drab painted finish. Brass 3-prong fuse assembly is stamped "42dkp". Interior explosive charge and detonators have been removed. Interior explosives balls are still present. CONDITION: Very good overall, with the mine body and cap retaining the vast majority of their olive drab painted finish, exhibiting some minor losses and spots of mild surface oxidation. Ink stamp markings and stampings are clear and easily legible. (B) Canvas bag containing 10 minefield flag posts, 8 of which retain their flags. Flags are yellow with a black skull. Interior of front pouch retains a yellow fabric roll of cloth. CONDITION: Very good overall, with flags exhibiting some discoloration from handling and storage. Flag posts exhibit some mild oxidation, but are otherwise fine. Canvas bag shows some mild wear, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. (C) U.S. World War II M1B1 anti-tank training mine, based off of the M1 pattern AT mine. Metal components exhibit a period painted blue finish. Assembly is complete and includes the mine base, "spider" top cover, and fuse assembly. CONDITION: Metal components show wear and areas of flaking through to oxidation, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A nice assortment of World War II mines utilized both in the field and as a training device.
