Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1889. Blued 24" octagon barrel with sheared blade front sight and non-factory dovetail rear notch sight, marked with Winchester address and King's Patent in .44-40. Blued Third Model receiver with integral dust cover rail and full blued tubular magazine. Plain walnut stocks with blued trapdoor buttplate (missing cleaning rod). CONDITION: 85% fading blue turning a plum patina with lever loop dented and edges worn to a silvery patina. Wood has traces of original varnish with usage marks and dings, especially in handled areas. Pitted bore with good mechanics; dust cover sticks slightly. DLM
