Lot consists of 3 letters that were once part of the John K. Lattimer collection. (A) December 13th, 1847 letter regarding the position of a Lieutenant Captain Philip Scheiffehn as Quartermaster of the 58th Brigade of New York Infantry. CONDITION: Very good with legible writing. (B) December 1882 letter penned and signed by William Tecumseh Sherman. The letter comes with a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity. CONDITION: Good with remnants of tape on back. (C) October 1869 letter penned and signed by Mary Curtis Lee to a Miss Exalt sending thanks for an invitation to visit "you must not allow this fine weather to pass away without coming to see me." CONDITION: Very good with scattered light blemishes.
