Everything about the 1971 Topps baseball card issue sets it apart. Consider the black borders of the set which make it probably the most condition sensitive issue trading card issue ever produced, the scarcity relative to cards produced in 71, and of course the unparalleled lineup of superstars contained within the giant 752 card set issued across 6 series of releases throughout the spring, summer, and fall. This bright blue 10 cent pack is from the 5th series, of which only 11 have ever been graded and authenticated by PSA. It also happens to be the series in which cards of Willie Mays, Ernie Banks, Roberto Clemente, Jim Palmer, and numerous other baseball legends are possible. The high grade examples that could be in this wax time capsule may necessitate the new owner opening it up to discover the contents!
