Standard configuration throughout. Lock is marked "US / (Eagle) / SPRINGFIELD" ahead of hammer with lock date of 1810 near lock tail, written horizontally. Barrel has typically seen proofs. Buttplate is dated 1810 on top tang area. Accompanying this lot is a letter dated March 17th, 1980 stating when this gun was bought at the Baltimore Gun Show. CONDITION: Very good, with iron components turned an even chocolate patina with scattered heavy handling marks. Several screws are heavily worn. Touch hole is large in size, appearing to be either bored or worn to its current size. Lock appears to be an originally flint lock. Stock is good, with several large areas of heavy wear including left side of forearm in between 1st and 2nd barrel bands, left stock flat near right lock screw, and forward of buttplate tang. Action needs attention as hammer does not go all the way back. Bore is dark.
