Brevete Colt 1849 Pocket revolver, possibly Belgian. 6" octagon barrel in .31 caliber with 1 piece plain walnut grips. Top flat of barrel has "Saml Colt" script barrel address. Matching serial numbers include rammer, barrel, wedge, cylinder arbor, frame, trigger guard, butt, and cylinder. Professionally engraved with floral and vine scroll on a punchdot background with accenting wrigglework, an image of a dog's head near rammer screw, and a wolf's head on hammer, reminiscent of the style of Gustave Young. CONDITION: Very good, with a vast majority of the added silver plating and gold wash remaining with wear at edges and additional wear on grip area from handling. Grips are very good, with no major cracks and minor loss occurring near frontstrap from handling. Mechanically fine. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling.
