This example with the "Mle 1836" marking on the tang, fixed rear sight with brass half moon front sight on a faceted platform. Numerous French proofs, including "C. de 17,8", 192 serial number 1829 barrel date; barrel clearly a factory replacement when conversion to percussion was done. Lockplate with evidence of previous flint configuration designated for Mauberg production, with various French proofs. Distinct brass nosecap with front sling swivel, rear sling swivel along toe line; right side of stock with marking for Tulle. Various French proofs visible on stock. CONDITION: Very good as converted to percussion. Barrel is essentially a smooth chocolate patina with flashes of dove grey, stronger at protected areas. Lock, hammer, and tang have been cleaned in the more recent past and brighter metal with flashes of oil staining. Brass with a strong gold appearance. Stock has been very lightly cleaned, with some handling and pressure marks visible throughout. Right side of stock has a cylinder repair in Tulle mark, still clearly legible. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with a minimum of oxidation.
