Circa 1876. A vintage steel back action game gun with 29 - 1/2" Damascus barrels. Barrels are chambered for 2 - 3/4" nitro cartridges and are of brazed dovetail lump construction with soft soldered ribs and extractors. Top rib is smooth and concave with a steel front bead. Rib reads "HENRY TURNER MARLBOROUGH". Barrel flats show Birmingham reproof in 2013. Chokes are designated at Skeet and Skeet. The back action sidelock is adorned with fine features, rebounding locks with high 'C Scroll' hammers, sprung strikers, and fire blued double triggers. Action adorned with border & foliate scroll, nicely decorated with finely carved percussion fences, and fit with a blacked, engraved, and checkered top lever. Action reads "Henry Turner" at top. The European walnut stock is cast-off for a right-handed shooter. Stock features broader checkering on its straight hand grip, vacant metal oval and is finished with engraved heel and toe plates. Long bottom strap with gun serial number "3953" engraved. The splinter forend features an engraved steel diamond, innovative forend catch release disc engraved with the patent use number "292", carved horn tip, and matched checkering. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels with 97% refurbished brown Damascus. Action and triggers are sound. Nice vintage hammer gun.
