Ramp front sight with gold insert instead of red plastic, square notch white outline rear sight, rib with anti-glare serrations across the length. Wide case colored target hammer and trigger, engraved in approximate B class coverage of floral screw with punch dot shading, with an amusing trumpet around the 44 Magnum designation on right side of barrel. Right side has a raised elk in mixed yellow and white gold.Smooth grips with S&W medallions at top. Frame with numerous proofs, including an ampersand indicating a return trip to the factory at some point. Engraving is unsigned but well executed. Housed in an unlabelled box with cleaning kit in plastic bag. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the bluing, with barrel starting to plum somewhat. Some very minor handling marks, engraving and legends are crisp. Trigger and hammer with some handling marks to extremities, colors fading somewhat. Grips are very good with some handling marks. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Case is fine as of a more recent vintage.
