Pre-War rare external hammer German "Doppelbuchsdrilling" double side by side rifle over shotgun configuration drilling made in Wiesbaden, Germany by Carl Nagel and Gottlieb Menz circa 1920. Blued 24 - 7/8" Nitro proofed Krupp steel barrels with rifle barrels in 8x57JRS over a 16 gauge shotgun with matted raised rib with ramp front sight and fixed notch rear sight, and claw scope mounts fitted with Carl Zeiss Diavari 1.5-6x scope with post reticle, marked on bottom "A. KREHER" and "WIESBADEN". Shotgun barrel is choked Full with a 2 - 3/4" chamber. External hammer case hardened underlever action with vignette scroll engraving, back action locks, lever tang barrel selector, double triggers (both set triggers), and steel trigger guard. Checkered European walnut pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, added ventilated recoil pad, hard rubber grip cap with spacer, and Crown stamping on right rear of stock. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with latch release. Import marked action. More research is needed on Crown stamping and Nagel and Menz. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with scratches and hunting nicks. Action has faded to a silvery patina. Varnish has dull appearance from use. Checkering worn flat; stock cut for recoil pad. Good bores, optics, and mechanics.
