Desirable Colt Model 1861 Navy percussion revolver made by Samuel Colt Company Hartford, Connecticut in 1862. Only 38,843 produced. Blued round 7 - 1/2" barrel marked with "-ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-", German silver blade front sight, and "C" inspection mark. 6-shot blued percussion cylinder with roll stamped Texas Navy scene, matching 5306 serial number, "b" and "C" inspection stamps, and "COLT'S PATENT" markings. Case hardened frame, lever, and hammer with frame marked "COLT'S PATENT" on left side. Matching serial numbered brass silver-plated grip straps with varnished 1-piece walnut grip. All numbered parts match with correct unnumbered wedge. CONDITION: Overall good with metal parts fading to a silvery brown patina. Cylinder scene has visible traces with nicks and dings and some discoloration. Brass has golden patina with silver worn entirely off. Grips have usage nicks and bruises with traces of original varnish. Good bore with sharp rifling and good crisp mechanics.
CORRECTION: Title updated. This is a martially marked Navy with faint remains of a cartouche on grip.
