Single Action Army revolver chambered in .38 W.C.F. manufactured by Colt in 1903. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the caliber designation, with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears Colt's patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame and hammer feature a case color hardened finish, with the barrel, ejector rod housing, cylinder, grip straps, and trigger guard exhibiting a lustrous high polish blue finish. Frame screws, cylinder base pin screw, grip screw, and trigger are nitre blued. Frame is mounted with Colt 2-piece checkered black hard rubber grips. Matching serial numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, as well as on the bottom of butt. CONDITION: Frame retains areas of vibrant case coloring, with the balance exhibiting fading, wear and thinning that shows through to a pleasant brown patina, as well as areas of surface oxidation. Blued components are very good to excellent, exhibiting some wear on the barrel showing through to gray patina, with mild wear and thinning on the grip straps showing through to brown patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting a concentrated area of surface oxidation and light pitting, and retaining sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips exhibit some minor superficial marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. Simply a nice and attractive Colt Single Action Army revolver manufactured just after the turn of the 20th century.
