Winchester Model 70 Target Model made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1957. Action is electropenciled with "U.S. Property" marking on left side; comes with CMP purchase and authenticity papers. Some of these guns were reported to be issued as long-range sniper rifles. Gun has blued 24" heavy target weight Winchester Proof Steel barrel marked with Winchester address and "30-06 Spfld" caliber marking, fit with dovetailed front sight base, mid-barrel sight base, front bridge sight base, and a 12x Lyman Super Target Spot target scope complete with factory caps. Matted finished action with correct drilled bolt knob, bolt electropencilled with matching serial number, and fitted with Redfield base for missing Redfield peep sight. Standard 3-position safety and claw extractor with standard trigger and blued detachable steel floorplate. Plain walnut target style pistol grip stock with factory blued checkered steel buttplate, adjustable front sling swivel, and military style green woven sling. CONDITION:95% overall original factory finish with light handling marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics with good optics needing professionally cleaned.
