Mle 1907-15 rifle manufactured by Remington under contract for France during World War I. Contracted to produce 200,000 rifles, French inspectors rejected Remington's contracted 1905-17 rifles, and terminated the contract approximately halfway through production, with the remaining rifles, such as this example, remaining unserialized and being sold on the commercial market. Left side of receiver is stamped "Remington MLE 1907-15", with "RAC 1907-15" present on the right side of the barrel shank. Major metal components are blued, while the bolt assembly and several other small components are in-the-white. Receiver is housed with a solid wood buttstock. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of mild thinning and light wear overall. In-the-white components exhibit proper age related discoloration. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise fine. A very nice condition Remington production Mle 1907-15 carbine.
