A wonderful sporting and target model produced from 1883 to 1907 with 26" heavy rust blued octagon barrel marked with 1-line "E. REMINGTON & SONS" address and chambered in .32-20 WCF. Modified blade front sight and v-notch rear. Vibrant case hardened falling block action marked on left with 2-line "HEPBURNS PAT." and fire blued small parts. Fit with a checkered walnut pistol grip walnut with steel butt plate, and matching plain walnut forend with steel nose cap. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrel retains bountiful amounts of its brilliant factory applied blued finish with some wear at the muzzle and high edges, along with a few minor spots of cleaned oxidation. The receiver exhibits the vast majority of its still bright and attractive case colors with some areas of mellowing to patina on the tangs and lever. Hammer and trigger also retain the majority of their still vibrant nitre blue. Stocks are fine, showing a few scattered light marks, and a larger impression on the forend. Bore is good, with defined rifling and some moderate black powder pitting. Mechanically fine. A great 19th century Remington sporting rifle.
