Pre-War rare German Doppelbuchsdrilling or double side by side rifle over shotgun barrel drilling made in Coblenz, Germany by August Friedrich Wilhelm Timner circa 1920. Blued 25" Nitro proofed Krupp steel barrels with rifle barrels in 9.3x74R over a 20-gauge shotgun with matted raised ramp front sight, fixed two blade notch rear sight, gold bands at breech, and marked " A.F.W. TIMNER COBLENZ" on rib. Shotgun barrel is choked Full with 2 - 3/4" chamber. Boxlock "Muzzelverschluss" (Clamshell) case hardened action with game scene Hirsch and wild bird scene engraving, cocking indicators, scalloped rear action, Greener style crossbolt, safety with tang barrel selector, double triggers with both being set triggers, and steel trigger guard. Checkered European walnut pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, heel to toe butt, comb mounted engraved bullet trap, steel grip cap, and carved diamond inlays behind side panels. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with scratches and hunting nicks. Action has vivid case colors with wear on carry areas. Varnish has dull appearance from use with fine line checkering still sharp. Good bores, optics, and mechanics.
