German Mauser sporting rifle made circa 1920 by Simson and Company in Suhl, Germany. Blued tapered "Krupp Stahl" 23" barrel with matted sight plane, ramp front sight, fixed 2-position rear sight, and marked "SIMSON & CO SUHL WAFFENFRABRIKEN". Line engraved blued action fitted with double set triggers, blued steel trigger guard, lever operated detachable steel floorplate, spoon handle bolt, and 3-position safety. Checkered walnut sporter stock with European style sling swivels and horn buttplate. CONDITION: 98% professionally reapplied blue with edge wear. Stock shows evidence of cleaning with usage marks with sharp checkering. Good bore with crisp mechanics.
