German made classic Drilling by J.P Sauer & Sohn, Suhl, Germany circa 1920. Blued 26 - 1/2" Krupp steel barrels in 16 gauge over 8x57 JR with line engraved breeches, matted sight plane, extractors, bead blade front sight, manual flip down notch rear sight, and fitted with claw mounts. Case hardened sidelock action with light floral and game scene engraving, side clips, double triggers (front set trigger). Gun has blued steel trigger guard and top tang barrel selector, cocking indicators, Greener style side safety and crossbolt. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, checkered horn buttplate, line engraved grip cap, and steel bullet trap. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 60% original blue with balance a silvery patina with 35% original action finish in protected areas. 65% original wood finish with usage marks and stress crack on right side near grip cap. Good bores and mechanics.
