German made cape style side by side combination gun made by Ernst Steigleder of Berlin with factory in Suhl, Germany circa the 1920s. Blued 26 - 1/4" Krupp Steel 10.7x65mm rifle next to a 12-gauge shotgun barrel with fully matted sight plain rib, blade/bead front sight, fixed 2 blade notch rear sight, rare ejectors, floral engraved breeches, barrels marked "ERNST STEIGLEDER / BERLIN-SUHL" and fitted with claw mounts. Heavy chisel engraved scalloped boxlock action with oak leaf and game scene engraving, double triggers (front is set trigger), Greener style safety and crossbolt, side clips, and heavily engraved steel trigger guard. Checkered figured walnut round knob pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, hard rubber buttplate, and matching latch release checkered splinter forearm. Caliber of this rifle is most likely the 10.75x65R Collath round which is very similar to the .405 Winchester round; chamber cast needs to done. Steigleder was known to be a fan of President Roosevelt even naming one of his guns the "Roosevelt Model". CONDITION: 95% original blue with bright action finish. 90% original hand rubbed finish remaining with fine checkering and some small handling marks and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics.
