The India General Service Medal is a campaign medal issued to personnel of the British and Indian armies awarded for various minor military campaigns in India and nearby countries between 1852-1895. The lot consists of: (A) India General Service Medal impressed in serif capitals to "GUNNER H. KENSILLA. ARTILLERY.". The medal displays the Persia clasp. (B) IGSM impressed in serif capitals to "1478 GUNNER J. FALLON. 13/9TH R.A.". The medal displays the Jowaki 1877-8 clasp. (C) IGSM impressed in small serif capitals to "447 BOMBR J. GALLAHER D. BY 19TH BDE R.A.". The medal displays the Umbeyla clasp. Tag with info on reverse ribbon and small excerpt included. (D) IGSM impressed in capitals to "GUNNER J. PAYNE. ARTILLERY.". The medal displays the Looshai clasp. (E) IGSM engraved in large sloping capitals to "J.A. DODD-POICL-H.M.S. HART". Tag with info on reverse ribbon and small excerpt included that states the medal was awarded to Petty Officer 1st Class Dodd of the HMS Hart, however the roll lists 74 medals to Hart with Dodd not mentioned and possibly renamed. (F) IGSM impressed in small serif capitals to "G, RICHARDSON, O.S, STR LADY FALKLAND.". The medal displays the Persia clasp. Tag with info on reverse ribbon with included excerpt that states the medal is verified. CONDITION: Medals exhibit a varying light patina. Overall good-very good.
