The India General Service Medal is a campaign medal issued to personnel of the British and Indian armies awarded for various minor military campaigns in India and nearby countries between 1852-1895. The lot consists of: (A) India General Service Medal engraved in running script to "68 Sergt W. Mc Cullough 2nd Bn Som L.I.". The medal displays the Burma 1885-7 clasp. (B) IGSM engraved in running script to "1479 Pte. W. 1st Bn Cheb. R." The medal displays the Chin-Lushai 1889-90 clasp. (C) IGSM engraved in large sloping capitals to "1428 PTE. W. MASON. 1/3RD FOOT.". William Mason is listed in the records with 1st Battalion 3rd (East Kent - The Buffs) Regiment of Foot. The medal displays the Perak clasp. (D) IGSM engraved in running script to "2890 Pte R. McDonald 2d Bn Sea Highrs". The medal displays the Hazara 1891 clasp. (E) IGSM engraved in running script to "3328 Pte. R. Walford 4th Bn K.R. Rif. C.". The medal displays the N.E. Frontier 1891 clasp. (F) IGSM impressed in small sans serif capitals to "WM POTTER. SERJT "FOX"". The medal displays the Pegu clasp. CONDITION: Medals exhibit a varying light patina, some show edge wear and blemishes. overall good-very good.
