The India General Service Medal is a campaign medal issued to personnel of the British and Indian armies awarded for various minor military campaigns in India and nearby countries between 1852-1895. Lot consists of: (A) India General Service Medal engraved in running script to "2541 Pte W. Hickey 2d Bn Devon Regt.". The medal displays the Burma 1889-92 clasp. Residue on reverse ribbon from tag. (B) IGSM engraved in running script to "890 Pte J. Thompson. 1st Bn Ches. R.". The medal displays the Chin-Lushai 1889-90 clasp. Tag with info on reverse. (C) IGSM engraved in running script to "1330 Pte H. Hopkinson 2nd Bn Derby R." The medal displays the Sikkim 1888 clasp. (D) IGSM engraved in running script to "2705 Lce Corpl J. Huckell 2d Bn Border Regt.". The medal displays the Waziristan 1894-5 clasp. (E) IGSM engraved in running script to "2737 Pte Soortan Buse 2nd Regt Infy Hyded Contgt" (engraving is worn and hard to read). Missing ribbon, but comes with suspender and Burma 1885-7 clasp. (F) IGSM impressed in capitals to "1175 CORP. GEO. NASH, 1 K.O. SCO. BORD." The medal displays the Chin-Lushai 1889-90 clasp. Tag with info on reverse ribbon. (G) Unnamed IGSM with Burma 1885-7 clasp. CONDITION: Medals exhibit varying patina and blemishes. Good-very good.
