German made Neptune Primus Grade classic Drilling by Sempert and Krieghoff, Suhl, Germany in 1937. Blued 25 -1/2" Krupp steel barrels chambered in 16 gauge over 6.3x52R with line engraved breeches, matted sight plane, extractors, bead blade front sight, manual flip down notch rear sight, and extra lever controlled rear sight fitted with Sempert & Krieghoff "Montage" mounts. Coin finished sidelock action with heavy floral and game scene engraving, side clips, and double triggers (front a set trigger). Side lever controls rifle selection and other lever acts as takedown; twisting the grip allows trigger mechanism to be removed for trigger adjustment. Gun has horn trigger guard, cocking indicators, and lever style side safety. Walnut Bavarian style skip-line checkered pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, horn checkered buttplate, and hard rubber grip cap. Matching walnut skipline checkered splinter forearm with latch release. Accompanied by a Leg of Mutton case with detached lid. CONDITION: 90% original blue with balance a silvery patina. 85% original action finish in protected areas. 85% original wood finish with usage marks. Good bores and mechanics. Case with scrapes and scratches from the field; stitching on lid has given and needs resewn.
