German made high grade side by side shotgun by Wilhelm Foerster of Berlin, Germany circa 1930. Blued 26" Nitro Proofed Krupp Steel chopper lump 12 gauge barrels with ejectors, smooth concave rib, bead front sight, and marked on rib "W. FOERSTER KONIGL HOFBUCHSENMACHER BERLIN". Little is known of this maker, although he was connected with several royal families in Europe including the Russian Tsars and all guns are of high quality. Case hardened sidelock action with oak leaf engraving, side clips, automatic safety, non-selective single trigger, and top tang safety with gold dove inlay on opening lever. Checkered walnut English style grip stock with short tang metal with added leather faced period pad. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with ebony inlay and push button release. Comes in fitted later period leather faced trunk case. CONDITION: 90% fading original blue with light edge wear. 90% original coin finish with sharp engraving. 95% professionally restocked and made into an English grip. Good bores and mechanics.
