The Punjab Medal was a campaign medal issued to soldiers of the British Army and East India Company who served in the Punjab campaign of 1848-49, that resulted with the British annexation of the Punjab. The lot consists of: (A) Punjab Medal impressed in Roman capitals "THOS KING. 14TH LT DRAGNS". Records indicate this medal was awarded to Private Thomas King, SN 552, 14th Light Dragoons. The medal displays the Chilianwala and Goojerat clasps. The regiment was hard fought and was present at received battle honors for both clasp locations. CONDITION: A tag is attached to the back of the ribbon with King's name. Very good overall. (B) Punjab Medal impressed in Roman capitals "J. AMOS, 1ST BN 60TH R. RIFLES.". Records indicate this medal was awarded to Private Joseph Amos, SN 1637, 1st Battalion 60th Rifles Regiment. The medal displays the Mooltan and Goojerat clasps. The regiment received battle honors for both clasp locations. CONDITION: Light wear. Good overall.
