29" barrels made out of one piece of steel with steel mushroom bead front sight on a slightly concave, solid, tapering rib with anti-glare matting and milled out area that reads "Waffenfabrik Steyr". Sling swivel on island soldered to underside of barrels, appropriate proofs of barrel flats for a Nitro proofed gun, "NICHT FUR KUGEL", etc. Hidden Greener crossbolt. Fully checkered forearm with turnoff release engraved with scroll engraving; interior marked "660" with case color hardening. Back action hammer locks with action flats marked with serial number and Nitro proof. Gadrooned border engraving with areas of running scroll, "WAFFENFABRIK / STEYR" in banners on actions. Double triggers protected by a short tang trigger guard. Prince of Wales grip with point-and-wave checkering. Lightly fiddled straight grain stock with shadowline cheeckpiece, sling bow on stud at toe line, and checkered horn buttplate. Housed in an associated Browning case. CONDITION: Barrels retain the majority of their bluing with some silvering to high edges from use, handling marks throughout (most at the halfway point), and some thinning to a plumb patina throughout. Forearm is very good with some abraded heads. Action mostly dove grey but retains approximately 10-20% color case hardening in recessed and protected areas. Engraving and legends crisp. Stock has an added layer of varnish with superficial scratches and handling marks through, some minor insect damage to buttplate at toe. Case is very good.
