A nicely mounted British World War I medal group named to Able Body Seaman H.F. Bisson. The medal group consists of Bisson's 1914-15 Star named on the reverse "J.21309, / H.F. Bisson, / A.B., R.N.", War Medal named "J.21309 H.F. BISSON. A.B. R.N.", Victory Medal named "J.21309 H.F. BISSON. A.B. R.N.", and Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named "J.21309 H.F. BISSON. A.B. H.M.S. VERNON". Also mounted with the medals is a Princess Margaret Medal, which was awarded to crewman who participated in the rescue of more than 350 refugees on December 28, 1918, when the ship arrived at Riga and discovered the city in danger of capture by advancing Bolshevik forces during the Russian Civil War. The Queen Margaret departed the city on January 3, 1919, shortly before Riga was captured by the Red Army. Princess Margaret then returned to Britain, reaching Rosyth on January 10, 1919. CONDITION: The medals display well and exhibit a moderate patina.
