Disassembly shows matching numbers on sight assembly, early U shaped firing pin retaining plate, bolt locking block, lug on inside of slide, lock frame, sear arm, bolt locking block, frame, trigger assembly, trigger, and inside of both grips. Magazine floorplate is only non-matching piece, 955. Barleycorn front sight, V notch rear sight is adjustable with 1 - 10 marked increments and flush fit pin. Flats about the chamber with Ulm antler proof on right flat, "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N" on top, "(Crown) / (Crown) / U" proof on left. Numerous small German proofs observed throughout. Appropriate early trigger. Lanyard loop on non-rotatable stud. Frame is appropriately cut for a shoulder stock. CONDITION: Good, retaining approximately half of the bluing, mostly in protected areas such as milled sections of frame, with balance drifting towards a mixture of chocolate patina and gunmetal grey. Grips with traces of varnish, with handling marks and a small chip on rear of left grip and internal separation of right grip, not visible when mounted. Mechanically fine, bore has visible heavily softened rifling and areas of peppering and frosting throughout. A scarce gun in any condition.
