The Canada General Service Medal was a campaign medal awarded by the Canadian Government to regular and colonial forces for duties related to the repelling the Fenian raids between 1866-1871. The lot consists of: (A) Canada General Service Medal engraved in upper and lower case roman capitals to "888. Pte. J. Embrey 1/16th. Rgt." Inscribed guide line visible. James Embrey appears in included records with 1st Battalion, 16th Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment of Foot. The medal displays the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp. CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall. (B) Canada General Service Medal engraved in upper and lower case roman capitals to "Sgt. E. Rowland 16th Bn." Inscribed guide line visible. Rowland does not immediately appear in the records. The medal displays the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp. CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall. (C) Canada General Service Medal hand stamped in upper and lower case roman capitals to "Sgt. Z. Guimont, 61st. Bn.". Guimont does not immediately appear in the records. The medal displays the Fenian Raid 1870 clasp. CONDITION: Nice patina, good overall.
