The Queen's South Africa Medal is a British campaign medal awarded to who served in the Second Boer War in South Africa. The lot consists of: (A) Queen's South Africa Medal impressed in narrow sans-serif capitals to "25237 TRP: A.E. JONES. C. IN C. BDY. GD.". The medal displays the South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, Transvaal, Orange Free State, and Cape Colony clasps. Copy of records included. (B) Queen's South Africa Medal impressed in narrow sans-serif capitals to "22405 TRP: W. BARRETT. C. IN C. BDY: GD:". Barrett is listed as killed in action on 1/3/1901 at Reitz near Kromspruit. There was a skirmish that took place at Kromspruit on 1/4/1901 which is when Barrett may have met his demise. CONDITION: Suspension missing, nice patina to medal. Fair overall.
