Made between 1861-1862, approximately 1900 made with half for U.S. Army, per Flayderman. Standard configuration with German silver cone front sight, brass trigger guard, 2 piece walnut grips with cartouche on grips. Normal Beals patent rollmark on top flat of octagonal barrel. CP inspector proofs on frame, barrel, C visible on rammer, trigger guard, C and W on cylinder. Cylinder has matching serial number on rear. CONDITION: Gun is essentially a chocolate patina throughout with visible corrosion on right side of barrel and silvering to high edges and operational areas such as turn line. Grips with handling and usage marks throughout, cartouches softened. Mechanically fine, bore with visible rifling and heavy darkness throughout.
