Wonderfully restored Model 1902 American Eagle "Fat Barrel" Luger manufactured by DWM for commercial sales within the United States. This variation is most significant in that it was among the first Luger variations to be offered in the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge, which would prove to be (and continues to be) a fundamental and popular cartridge for small arms across the globe. This example is stamped with the US Great Seal over the chamber, with the intertwined "DWM" monogram present on the toggle. Front of frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the serial number. The entire pistol has been wonderfully restored, with major metal components being blued, and some smaller components being strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips, which bear proper 6-point star inspector proofs on the interior of the panels. All serialized components are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, barrel, frame, breechblock, as well as the toggles. Nickel plated magazine is a replacement, featuring a wood bottom stamped with a flaming ordnance bomb proof. CONDITION: Superb, with metal components retaining virtually all of their blue finish, exhibiting a few minor nicks and marks, as well as a few spots of extremely mild surface oxidation. Strawed components are en suite, showing some mild edge wear, with the trigger showing modest wear to the face. Bright bore, exhibiting very light surface level pitting throughout. Muzzle shows some discoloration on the crown, but is otherwise fine. Grips are extremely fine. An exceptional and highly attractive example of a Model 1902 American Eagle "Fat Barrel" Luger by DWM.
