Circa 2000. This 20 bore best Scottish built game gun with round bodied action is built with 28" London nitro proofed blacked steel barrels. Chopper lump side by side barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers, and a smooth, concave, slightly tapered game rib. Rib with small round brass front bead and small dolls head rib extension is delicately engraved with scrolls near breech and reads "DAVID MCKAY BROWN / GUNMAKER / LTD BOTHWELL SCOTLAND". Barrel flats with London proof "LP / 99", "15.6", "NP", "20" in diamond, "70MM", "950 BAR", and stamped "J McD" between barrel flat and bottom rib. Fixed chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. Coin finished signature rounded frame trigger plate action with third fastener is built with double triggers. Water table with proofs, "7672" serial number, and "DMB". Action is engraved with elegant foliate scroll, fences are chiseled with daisies. Bottom action handsomely engraved with a brace of grouse (a male and a female) standing in the moor. Just above "DAVID MCKAY BROWN" is inlaid with gold. Engraving by Creative Arts, which is inscribed at right hand side of long scroll engraved bottom strap. Bottom strap also engraved with gun's serial number "7672". Top lever with matched engraving and checkered thumb. Safe slide is checkered. "SAFE" in gold. Gun is built with auto-safe. Trigger guard with scroll and floral bouquet engraving. European walnut stock with smoky marbling is built with sharply checkered English straight hand grip, vacant gold oval, and finished by a checkered butt. Slender splinter forearm with matched checkering, scroll engraved escutcheon, iron metal and checkered Anson push release. Beautiful gun rests in its lightweight leather case with canvas outer cover "A.K." on tablet. Case is fit with snap caps, cleaning tools, and oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain 99% of their original color. Action, triggers, and ejectors are excellent. Stock and forend both excellent. Case excellent. Great gun; like new.
